Helen Simeonoff is Sugpiag (Alutiiq) of Kodiak, Alaska. Her parents were William Simeonoff, Jr of Kodiak & Alexandra Knagin (Knagg) of Afognak. Helen Studied art in San Diego, California and Adak, Alaska. Her interests include photography; glass fusing; resin miniature Sugpiag masks; beading; silversmithing; sewing; and genealogy of Alaska native women who married Russian American Company employees. Helen paints a variety of images incorporating her Sugpiaq cultural symbols which are bright, colorful, whimsical & playful.
